Ed Ed
& Mood Music Record

Ed Ed (Real name Edmond Weinfeld) is a Germany based DJ, whose music draws its influences in Techno music, Tech House or Deep House music styles. He is also the creator of his own music label called Mood Music Record. That's why Ed Ed asked for a logotype for his new music label, but also for a logotype dedicated to his stage name.

For this project, realized at the Realgestalt agency in Berlin, there was a dual work : on the one hand focused on the creation of the logotype for the Mood Music Record label and on the other hand focused on the creation of an identity for ED ED.
The first one has lead to the use of many recording-related and sound-related signs, such as symbols inspired by concrete things, such as recording equipement or recording locations (studios), or symbols inspired by more abstract forms, evoking modulation or resonance.
The second one, representing the artist ED ED, has been worked as a translation of nocturnal, transcendent and mysterious atmospheres evoked by electronic music. It also shows a desire to highlight a contemporary, avant-garde and trendy aspect, with simple and refined symbols that have the ability to melt into a more complex scenery, just like electronic music itself that often use a constant background sound, to which are then inserted instruments, sounds and samples.
